How Can a Disabled Widow Without an Earnings Record Collect on a Spouse's Earnings Record?

If you are a widow or widower and you have not worked enough to have your own earnings record, you may be able to collect on your late spouse's earnings record.

An uninsured disabled widow can collect if:

1. you meet Social Security's definition of disability; and

2. you are over the age of 50; and

3. you became disabled within 7 years from your spouse's death
